Our Lumber Delivery Truck Drivers are responsible for timely and accurate deliveries of lumber and building materials to customer job sites. Truck Drivers must maintain a professional image and be courteous to all customers. At times, they are responsible for building loads for deliveries. Truck drivers are required to maintain a safe, clean and well organized lumber yard and equipment; loading and unloading of lumber and/or building supplies, and operating a forklift. Truck Drivers must have valid state issued driver's license and safe driving record. Truck Drivers must also have the ability to work in adverse conditions.
Delivery Truck Driver responsibilities include:
• Proper mapping & planning
• Daily inspections of delivery vehicles per DOT requirements
• Maintain all required paperwork
• Load, secure, and deliver material
• Handling of COD orders
• Handling of Returns. Pickup lumber and building materials and load on truck at jobsite
• Use a truck mounted forklift to load and offload units of material without damaging material or property
• Check load for accuracy
• Communicate clearly and effectively with employees, management, and customers
• Perform any special assignment/projects as required by the Yard Manager/Dispatcher
• Keep the vehicle clean at all times both inside and out
• Photograph and download images of deliveries and returns to company POS system
Requirements:
• CDL Class A or B required for vehicles over 26000 GVW with airbrake endorsement
• Clean driving record a must
• Ability to routinely lift, carry, and move 100 lbs to specified areas, in rough terrain
• Ability to build and arrange loads properly
• Experience driving a forklift or truck-mounted forklift
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Hardworking, Responsible, Motivated Individual
• Post offer DOT drug test and DOT Medical Card required
• Knowledge of Building Materials
