A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PROJECT MANAGER
As a Project Manager, you plan and oversee a portfolio of construction projects. You drive key aspects of the project to produce desired results by managing the financials, tracking expenses, ensuring adherence to the budget and schedule, and interfacing with clients, trade partners, and other stakeholders. At the beginning of the project, you review bids for each trade and negotiate subcontracts with our trade partners. You work collaboratively with superintendents to coordinate and oversee trade partner activities. You set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor and report on the progress of each project.
Your positive, collaborative disposition comes through in all your interactions and is how you are able to foster and maintain strong relationships with clients and trade partners. Your excellent communication skills and attention to detail ensure that their needs are met. Your strong leadership and team building skills ensure that project teams consistently exceed expectations. You prepare reports and status updates for both your clients and upper management over the course of the project. If there are any issues or changes, you are sure to keep everyone informed. Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has supervisory responsibilities over assistant project managers, project engineers, and project coordinators on the assigned projects.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to office environments and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, 40 hours or more per week.
Travel:
This position requires moderate local travel and some potential overnight stays. Reliable transportation is required.

Required Education and Experience:
- 3+ years of prior work experience in the General Contractor Construction Industry
- 1 or more years of prior work experience as a Project Manager
- Must be familiar with all facets of building construction
- Proficient in MS Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint software.
- Excellent written and oral communication.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, or similar field
- Proficiency in Procore project management software
- Proficiency with industry standard scheduling software
- Proficiency with ViewPoint project management and accounting software
- Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu or other take-off software.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
- Satisfactory results from a drug screen, background, and MVR check
- Must have valid driver’s license and have current automobile liability insurance
- Ability to travel with some overnight stays
