Description
We are seeking a technically-savvy Project Architect to join our Atlanta office. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in corporate and retail projects, be proficient in Revit, be detail and deadline-oriented, and have experience managing challenging, fast-paced projects. The Project Architect is responsible for project phases from conceptual design through construction administration.
Essential Functions
- Take responsibility for finished plans, specifications, and approval of materials and construction
- Produce work involving a variety of complex features
- Review shop drawings, submittals, and respond to RFIs
- Apply sound knowledge of architectural principles and practices in a broad array of assignments and related fields
- Assist with budget management
- Prepare design presentation materials
- Work directly with client and/or user group to develop schematic design concepts and programming studies
- Provide professional architectural consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of large, complex projects
- Write and edit specifications as assigned
- Conduct code research and analysis and review with various agencies for approval
- Collaborate with engineers, consultants, contractors and/or clients
- Assume project manager role on assigned projects
- Prepare project proposals, design team budget, schedule, and workforce projections
- Supervise and provide guidance regarding overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters
- Ensure that the project meets environmental, safety, structural, zoning, and aesthetic standards
- Build, manage and nurture client relationships
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor of Architecture or equivalent
- Registered as a licensed architect
- Eight (8) years of experience
- Excellent grasp of building technology fundamentals
- Experience leading project teams
- Thorough knowledge of relevant codes, operations, processes, and trends
- Business development and client relations experience in a leadership capacity
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel software
- Proficiency in Revit
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Exceptional organizational and follow-through skills
- Ability to provide clear direction and instill motivation to a team
- Demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Newforma Project Center and/or Newforma Project Analyzer
- Experience with Microsoft Project
- Experience with Bluebeam PDF Revu
- Experience with Autodesk Revit software
- Relevant certifications indicating additional expertise for construction administration, interior design, LEED/Green Globes/sustainability, etc.
