Essentia is seeking Fielders to join our growing team. Candidates should have a strong telco background, as well as experience in collecting field data for both aerial and buried plant environments. Role has the potential to evolve to an Inspector position later in the build. Job sites are located in Central Florida, primarily suburban Orlando.


  • Locating and documenting details of existing OSP facilities, including cables, poles, ground structures, terminals, and manholes.
  • Using iOt-enabled tools to capture key field data, including measurements of attachment heights, span distances, utility structures, and distances from existing/proposed OSP facilities to centerlines, property lines, and curb lines.
  • Using our proprietary eSpeed Technology platform to generate needed documents, drawings, reports, and more.   
  • Ability to read and understand as -build prints, and to be able to identify conflicts with existing outside plant facilities.
  • Determining optimal routes for construction, identifying potential obstacles and troubleshooting accordingly.
  • Identifying power and communication facilities, as well as utility pole ownership.
  • Collaborating with the Engineering team as needed
  • Manage customer interactions and relationships.
  • Attend internal field operations and safety meetings.
  • High I.Q. regarding outside plant activities, such as fiber cable design and pole line construction.
  • Familiar with GIS (Geographic Information Systems).
  • Ability to read and understand maps, conduit records, and layout drawings. 
  • Can work independently, managing a workload while prioritizing multiple field engineering assignments.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to travel to perform field work and or/meetings
  • A valid Driver’s License, including a clean droving record dating back 5 years.
  • Must pass criminal background check and drug screening.
