Description

The Senior IT Security Engineer will be responsible for all IT security activities for Merchants, including general IT security, firewall, MDR, security vendor oversight, network, and communications systems. Security audit planning and support will also be an important part of this role.  Effective communication and excellent customer service are equally important to technical skill and experience.  

Requirements
  • Supervise the IT security team
  • Help design and implement general IT security measures including cybersecurity preventative and incident response duties.
  • Lead IT security projects and provide project updates to department managers.
  • Recommend additional security solutions or enhancements to existing security solutions to improve overall enterprise security.
  • Analyze and make recommendations for security improvements to cloud services usage, configurations, and best practices.
  • Evaluate Infrastructure -as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) vendor provided cloud services and document controls that manage the risk of usage
  • Monitor security applications for alerts. Respond to and take appropriate actions to notify and remediate threats and infections.
  • Support network and communications systems planning and security.
  • Help review and update IT security policies and procedures.
  • Support IT audits and associated documentarian as needed
  • Mentor IT staff to help build a technically excellent and people centric team.

  

Expected Experience, Skills and Education:

  • A degree in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering or a related qualification.
  • 5 + years of experience with designing and implementing security programs, incident detection, incident response and forensics.
  • Threat hunting and ethical hacking experience.
  • Experience with Firewalls (functionality and maintenance), SIEM tools, Office 365 Security, AWS cloud and Endpoint Security.
  • Good understanding of networking best practices.
  • IT security Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH or CCSP desired.
  • Preferred experience with supporting a financial services organization.
