The Barker Adoption Foundation, a non-profit adoption agency, is seeking a licensed social worker to serve as a therapist for our post-adoption services department to work primarily with families, children, and adolescents. Candidates must have an interest in completing adoption competency training. Supervision is provided for those seeking clinical licensure. Primary duties include providing therapy for children/adolescents/families, group therapy for children and teens, facilitation of educational workshops, and providing search and reunion services. • Applicants must hold an MSW degree and a social work license in MD and be able to obtain licenses in VA and DC once hired.
• Experience preferred around permanency-related issues including: core developmental stages, loss, grief, trauma, behavior management, attachment, ADHD, and anxiety.
• Experience required working with children and adolescents.
• Ability and willingness to work at least 3 days in person based out of our Bethesda, Maryland office.
• Ability and willingness to work some evenings. 
• Willing to submit to criminal and CPS background checks.
