Assistant Athletic Trainer


Position/Title:  Assistant Athletic Trainer (part time)

Position Summary

The Assistant Athletic Trainer supports athletes and athletic programs by providing comprehensive injury care and conditioning programs for practices and games at Laurel’s Lyman Campus. 

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Performs athlete evaluation on/off the field; provides immediate care as needed and/or develops an effective treatment plan appropriate to the athlete’s needs
  • Selects and competently uses a variety of appropriate treatment techniques
  • Educates athlete/family in applicable treatment and prevention
  • Performs other activities such as, but not limited to recordkeeping, documentation and parent communication
  • Other duties as assigned 

 The successful candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, be certified by NATABOC and be licensed in the State of Ohio. Additional qualifications should include:

  • CPR/AED certification
  • Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other health providers
  • Knowledge and understanding of HIPAA laws and ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and use sound judgment 
  • Strong interpersonal skills
