Overall Responsibility:
Restorative Nursing Aides (RNA) are trained CNA's that are responsible for working with residents needing restorative nursing programming to gain or maintain their highest possible functional level. RNAs also give residents personal care and assistance in performing daily life activities. Provides direct restorative care and delegated formalized therapy tasks, as assigned, completing work accurately, safely and in a timely manner. Must be able respond to resident requests, monitor resident condition and report special care needs, concerns or problems to appropriate staff. Demonstrate excellence in customer service, interpersonal communication, ability to work on your own and teamwork.
Duties include:
- Provides direct restorative care and delegated formalized therapy tasks, as assigned, completing work accurately, safely and in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate acceptable skill proficiency in those areas of restorative nursing which the facility has determined it will make available to the resident.
- Demonstrates proficiency in motivating residents to participate in and complete restorative programs.
- Accompany residents to appointments off site when needed.
- Informs MDS Coordinator of suggestions for changes that would help a resident to reach their highest possible functioning level.
- Adherence to all resident right policies and procedures.

C.N.A. who is self-motivated, loves working with residents, possesses patience, good motivator / cheerleader and has a kind and caring personality. Restorative experience preferred but we are willing to train
Qualifications:
- · Must provide proof of current/active CNA certification from the State of Indiana.
- Knowledge and interest in the geriatric population.
- Satisfactorily completes Restorative Nursing Assistant training program provided by PT, OT, ST and MDS Coordinator.
- Restorative Nursing Assistant experience preferred, but willing to train.
- Self-motivated, loves working with residents, possesses patience, good motivator / cheerleader and has a kind and caring personality.
SCHEDULE:
5 days a week with every other weekend commitment. (Monday-Friday is preferred) Hours are flexible within reason. We can discuss what your preferred hours would be and see if your request would fit within our Restorative framework.
Physical or Mental Functions Required to Perform Job:
- Must function effectively under timelines and multiple demands.
- Must be able to fully and effectively communicate orally, understand, and have the ability to write and type.
- Must be able to read normal print/script and computer generated type.
- Must have the ability to hear effectively.
- Must have full use of both arms and hands.
- Must be ambulatory.
- Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to fully lift residents per standard nursing procedures, with additional staff, or mechanical lifts as required based upon the size of the resident.
- Must be able to perform his/her full duties at all times.
