Description

The ISD Specialist designs and develops curriculum for aviation training organizations using the Systems Approach to Training (SAT) and Instructional System Development (ISD) I theory. The ISD Specialist must be able to analyze data, design a course, and translate principles of learning and instruction into instructional materials, activities, information resources, and evaluation. 

  • Analyzes data, designs a course, and translates principles of learning and instruction into instructional materials, activities, information resources, and evaluation. 
  • Uses working knowledge of the Instructional Systems Development (ISD) theory and process. 
  • Designs and develops curriculum using the SAT. 
  • Assist technical writers in the development of training materials ensuring all development stems from an analysis. 
  • Group tasks into modules of training and develop appropriate testing instruments. 
  • Design and develop teaching aids such as lesson plans, programs of instruction, job aids and student materials using data item descriptions (DIDs). 
  • Conduct media analysis to determine instructional methods. 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Workforce Education & Training, Occupational Education, Instructional Design, or other closely related areas of knowledge.
  • 2 years’ experience in training, or ISD with demonstrated ability to create training materials using the SAT/ISD process. 
  • 6 years’ experience of ISD experience in a corporate office.

 Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of military aviation pilot, enlisted aircrew, and maintenance training.
  • Experience in the defense contracting industry.
