SHINE Technologies is seeking a Nuclear Quality Control Inspector to provide inspection and examination support. The Nuclear Quality Control Inspector reviews work packages to ensure inspection and examination requirements are met based on required codes and standards. This position provides support for internal and external auditing and surveillance activities as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Specific duties and responsibilities of the Nuclear Quality Control Inspector include, but are not limited to:
- Perform required inspections.
- Identify non-conforming issues and participates with responsible management to resolve issues and provide recommendations to positively influence quality.
- Participate in closure of non-confirming conditions by performing inspections when applicable.
- Recognize Quality Control participation intervals associated with construction installation tasks. Coordinate required inspections according to sequence of craft activities.
- Review third party NDE/NDT reports.
- Attend weekly Site Construction Managers Quality meeting(s) when requested.
- The candidate may be required to cross train in construction disciplines not previously qualified within.
- Support a quality driven culture.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 10 years Capital Construction experience (hands on craft experience and/or inspection experience can be combined with a minimum of five years inspection experience
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector
- Understanding of NDE/NDT processes such as penetrant testing, magnetic particle testing, radiographic testing
- Experience with coordinating and prioritizing visual inspections
- Technical understanding of construction installation techniques (piping and structural steel)
- Ability to determine corrective action with regard to construction installation deficiencies
- Familiar and have previous work experience with AWS/ASME codes of construction
- Proficient computer skills for the position (e.g., Bluebeam literate, Navisworks or equivalent modeling software, electronic document management systems)
- Understanding of hierarchy between codes and standards, approved design, and owner’s specification, in regards to construction installation requirements
- Candidate may be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance based on position access requirements and essential job functions
- Able to certify and operate aerial work platform equipment (e.g., scissor lift, boom lift)
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization, as well as interface with regulators, contractors, and suppliers.
Eligibility for employment is conditioned on the applicant’s ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls. Additionally, applicant’s eligibility may be conditioned based upon meeting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements for access to Safeguards Information, which typically requires a pre-employment drug screen, fingerprinting and criminal background check.
