Senior Family Center Worker (Weekends plus 6 flexible weekday hours)
Job Type
Part-time
Description

The Osborne Association serves individuals, families, and communities affected by the criminal justice system. Through our programs, we offer opportunities for people to heal from and repair harm, restore their lives, and thrive. We challenge systems rooted in racism and retribution and fight for policies and practices that promote true safety, justice, and liberation.

At Osborne, we are guided by core values and shared beliefs. We honor everyone's capacity to change, celebrate our shared humanity, are united in our pursuit of justice and equity, take all possible steps to keep our commitments and advocate for people and principles with fierce and tenacious determination.

Osborne has a welcoming kids' playroom nestled directly inside 5 prison visiting rooms. The Centers are a safe haven where children and their incarcerated loved ones can play games, make crafts, and simply be a family together. As the Senior Family Center Worker, you are the driving force behind this nurturing environment across five regional locations. In this part-time role, you will travel between these centers, working hands-on in the spaces to ensure they remain clean, joyful, and safe sanctuaries that foster healthy family bonding and humanize the visiting experience.

Beyond directly supporting families on-site, you will serve as the operational and administrative backbone of the Family Centers. This leadership role requires a close collaboration with the Program Coordinator.  It also necessitates a dynamic multitasker who can seamlessly transition from brainstorming new family activities and wiping down play areas to hiring, training, and supervising new staff. You will also manage the behind-the-scenes administration, including performing inventory counts, ordering supplies, and reviewing weekly reports to ensure our teams are fully equipped to support the families who need them most.

This position is part-time 18 hours per week with a schedule of 8:30am - 2:30pm weekends and holidays, with 6 additional flexible weekday hours each week.  Holidays paid at overtime rate.

This position requires clearance by the New York State Department of Correction and Community Supervision (DOCCS). Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain Department of Correction and Community Supervision (DOCCS) clearance to work in facilities operated by the Department of Correction and Community Supervision (DOCCS).
