Description

SHINE Technologies is seeking a CGD Lab Technician to support commercial grade dedication (CGD) laboratory activities and equipment qualification for the construction and operation of the Chrysalis, a first-of-a-kind medical isotope facility. This is an on-site, part-time position located in Janesville, Wisconsin.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Specific duties and responsibilities of the CGD Lab Technician include, but are not limited to:

  • Support execution of CGD plans to qualify materials for safety-related applications.
  • Develop or assist in the development of test plans and perform special tests for the purpose of commercial grade dedication.
  • Execute qualification test plans that meet SHINE technical requirements.
  • Perform material receipt activities in support of SHINE warehouse operations.
  • Support quality receiving inspection (QRI) activities.
  • Design, fabricate, and implement test set ups to meet testing requirements.
  • Operate stand up and sit-down forklifts.
  • Provide oversight to external vendors for commercial grade dedication activities, as required.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable requirements, regulations, procedures, and specifications including good manufacturing practices.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
  • Write test or inspection reports outlining results, recommendations, or needed repairs.


Requirements
  • Associate degree in technical field 
  • Five (5) years nuclear industry/supplier experience preferred or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
  • Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, and operating manuals.
  • Ability to interpret test data results.
  • Familiarity with test equipment such as: DMM, AC/DC variable voltage sources, Hi Pot, Oscilloscope, Function generator, Power Meter, Caliper, Micrometer, IR temp gun, Tachometer, Flow meters, etc., required. 
  • Must be able to use basic shop equipment correctly and safely (drill press, grinder, band saw, etc.)
  • Experience in utilization of various test equipment (OES, XRF and FTIR, etc.) preferred.
  • Previous experience in a material handling or quality receiving inspector role.
  • Understanding of Commercial Grade Dedication (EPRI NP5652) preferred.
  • Understanding in Equipment Qualification preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communications skills.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft desktop software (Word, Excel).

Eligibility for employment is conditioned on the applicant’s ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls.
