General Manager

As a General Manager, you are the backbone of your store’s operations. This role is designed for experienced restaurant leaders who understand the pace, pressure, and standards of high-volume food service. You are responsible for leading all aspects of a Zalat Pizza restaurant — delivering high-quality food, exceptional customer service, and achieving sales and profitability goals. You succeed in this role by being a hands-on, self-sufficient operator who makes strong decisions in real time and holds your team accountable. You will oversee all operational, administrative, and leadership functions within your restaurant.
During onboarding, you will complete 5–6 weeks of training to align with Zalat standards and systems. As General Manager, you are expected to uphold the highest standards in food quality, health and safety, and hospitality.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience managing a restaurant or similar high-volume food service environment
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, late-night, and high-pressure setting
- Strong understanding of restaurant operations, including labor, inventory, and food safety
- A hands-on leadership style — you lead from the front, not the office
- Experience developing and coaching hourly team members
- Accountability for driving sales, managing costs, and delivering results
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop your team through consistent, hands-on leadership
- Recruit, hire, and manage team members (“Zealots”)
- Oversee daily operations and ensure execution of all standards and procedures
- Manage scheduling, labor, and payroll with accuracy and efficiency
- Maintain facility and equipment to high operational standards
- Manage inventory and purchasing to meet PAR levels and minimize waste
- Drive profitability by managing controllable costs and revenue
- Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and leadership
- Monitor customer feedback daily and take action to ensure exceptional service

- 2+ years of restaurant management experience in a high-volume environment
- Current Food Safety Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including opening, mid, and closing shifts
- Willingness to work evenings, late nights, weekends, and holidays, which are our highest-volume periods
- Availability to work key blackout dates, including the Saturday closest to Halloween, Halloween, Super Bowl Sunday, and New Year’s Eve
- Ability to work approximately 45–50 hours per week across 5 shifts (typically 9–12 hours per shift)
- Successful completion of a background check
