About the Role
New Avenues to Independence is hiring Direct Support Professionals to support individuals with disabilities in residential home settings. DSPs help people with daily living activities, personal care, and community participation — making a real difference in someone's life every day.
What you’ll do:
- Provide person-centered care and support to individuals with disabilities in a variety of settings, including residential homes and day programs.
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal care (such as toileting and bathing), meal preparation, cooking, cleaning, shopping, medication management, and medical appointments.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes growth, independence, and self-determination.
- Plan and engage in meaningful activities, outings, and events to enhance the quality of life for the people you support.
- Promote social and emotional well-being by building strong, supportive relationships.
- Collaborate with a dedicated team of professionals to create and implement individualized care plans.
- Collaborating with people to complete tasks and build independence in their lives.

- $17/hr base pay (ICF) with opportunities to earn up to $18/hr based on driver's license status and Med Cert I

What We're Looking For:
- 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Ohio driver's license with fewer than 5 points
- Valid auto insurance
- Previous caregiving experience preferred (personal care, home health, or similar)
- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred; we will train)
- Med Cert I (preferred; we will train)
- A desire to make a difference in people’s lives
