Description
The retail store Assistant Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the store. He or she is responsible for developing strategies to improve customer service, sales and increase store profitability while maintaining high store standards and a positive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Follow and enforce all Company Policies and established procedure in store operations
- Assist the Retail Manager in maintaining appropriate staffing based on business needs
- Follow daily operating procedures established by the Retail Manager
- Coach, counsel, train and discipline employees as needed
- Complete daily banking duties
- Maintain quality brand image standards
- Maintain all inventory, stocking and tracking of inventory
- Maintain monthly promotions, insure all POS advertising and signage is properly posted
- Change prices as directed by the Retail Manager
- Customer service as required
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Retail Manager and Director of Retail
Requirements
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of individuals
- Ability to follow established processes.
- Experience and understanding of inventory controls
- Ability to operate a computer and associated software
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Strong math skills
Education
- High School education with some college preferred
- Valid Driver’s license
- Retail experience, convenience store retail experience is preferred
Physical Requirements
- Able to sit, bend, and reach over head as part of daily office activities
- Able to hear effectively on phone to take messages and answer inquiries
- Able to read documents with fine print.
- Able to use a keyboard
- Able to lift 60+ pounds
