Description
As a Golf Shop Retail Associate, you will be responsible for the overall guest experience. This position is a guest relations / customer service role responsible for greeting and checking in in golf course guest, assisting with pro shop retail sales, and serving as a go-to resource golf and resort guests.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Accurately operate Point-of-Sale system activities including, but not limited to cash, credit, and gift card transactions, 3rd party voucher acceptance, resort account charges, golf course check-in procedures, and retail sales
- Accurately book and manage tee times for in-person and over-the-phone guest
- Effectively utilize golf course web-based tools for course activities
- Utilize web-based applications, such as Fare Harbor, to manage online bookings, payment, and check-in procedures
- Maintain and/or Develop a basic understanding of golf terms
- Communicate effectively and cooperatively with resort team members (sales, food and beverage, guest services)
- Display a positive, friendly, outgoing attitude that welcomes guest
- Maintain a professional attitude and appearance (golf attire), striving for complete customer satisfaction
- Exemplify world-class guest services providing excellent customer service and being attentive to guest needs ensuring guest satisfaction
- Maintain calm guest-centric demeanor during stressful and busy periods
- Maximize every sales opportunity by cross selling profitable products
- Assist merchandising team to ensure inventory merchandise inventory is stocked and retail sales floor is neat and orderly
- Assist merchandising team with keeping stock rooms neat and orderly according to defined standards
- Maintain an even level of performance
- Develop working product knowledge
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS: EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS
- Demonstrate willingness to perform essential job functions
- Flexibility to work a varied schedule
- Sales experience, preferably retail
- Guest services experience
- Golf experience not necessary, willingness to learn basic lingo is essential
- Comfortable working with computer-based tools and applications
- Enjoy engaging with guest
- Outgoing and positive attitude
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and an understanding of social norms and boundaries
