The Collection Support team is responsible for locating consumers and identifying verifiable assets to support the firm’s collection and legal processes. This role conducts detailed research using credit reports, online databases, public records, and internal file notes to confirm addresses, employment, property ownership, bank information, and other attachable assets. All findings must be documented clearly and accurately in the company’s system to ensure compliance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
The base hourly rate for this position is $17.00 - $18.00 per hour (non-exempt), depending on experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Locate consumers and verify current addresses using online tools, printed resources, and investigative research methods.
- Identify and confirm attachable assets, including employment, property ownership, bank accounts, and other sources eligible for garnishment or attachment.
- Request legal actions such as reissued complaints, property liens, wage garnishments, or bank attachments when appropriate.
- Review credit bureau trade lines to determine next steps when no attachable assets are found, including identifying creditors for subpoena requests.
- Verify phone calls and transfer confirmed contacts to the appropriate collection team.
- Maintain accurate, thorough documentation of all research and findings in the Firm’s case management system.
- Meet established performance metrics, including quality, volume, and monthly quotas.
- Adhering to all Firm policies and client guidelines/work standards

- High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Excellent administrative and phone skills
- Above-average computer skills, especially in Excel.
- Above-average interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Be able to communicate in a common language with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing
- Be able to operate a computer, phone, or equivalent device
- Be able to complete a minimum of a 40-hour flexible workweek schedule
- Be able to read and comprehend position-specific documents and correspondence
