Who We Are


Golden Queen Mining Co., LLC (the “Company”) operates a gold and silver, open pit, heap leach operation on its Soledad Mountain property, located just outside the town of Mojave in Kern County in southern California. The Project uses conventional open pit mining methods and the cyanide heap leach and Merrill-Crowe processes to recover gold and silver from crushed, agglomerated ore.

Who You Are


Golden Queen Mining Company is seeking qualified Industrial Electricians to install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve electrical systems and equipment across mining, processing, refining, and support facilities. This role supports safe, reliable plant operations and spans entry-level through lead electrician responsibilities depending on experience, demonstrated competency, and leadership capability.


This is a safety-sensitive position requiring strict compliance with MSHA regulations, NEC standards, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Arc Flash procedures, and company safety policies.


As an Electrician you would report to the Electrical Instrumentation Project Manager and/or Plant Manager. This is a safety sensitive position.


What You Do (All Levels)


  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including:
    • Motors, MCC buckets, starters (across-the-line, soft starters), and VFDs
    • Low, medium, and high voltage equipment (as qualified)
    • Conveyors, crushers, pumps, belt scales, and associated safety switches
    • PLC-controlled systems and industrial control networks
    • Electrical instrumentation (flow, level, pressure transmitters, solenoids, valves)
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, one-line diagrams, ladder diagrams, loop diagrams, and cable/conduit schedules
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, calibration, and assured grounding
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures efficiently to minimize downtime
  • Safely energized and de-energized equipment, breakers, disconnects, and substations (as qualified)
  • Maintain accurate documentation including work orders, SLAMs, inspection forms, pre-ops, and daily reports
  • Maintain personal and company-issued electrical tools
  • Work collaboratively with operations, maintenance, planning, and engineering teams
  • Respond to emergency callouts when required


Progressive Skill Expectations by Level:


Entry / Developing Electrician (Electrician I–III)

  • Demonstrates foundational industrial electrical knowledge
  • Assists with troubleshooting, repairs, and installations
  • Uses electrical meters and tools safely and correctly
  • Learning equipment manuals and plant systems
  • Performs PMs, inspections, and belt scale calibration with guidance
  • Build troubleshooting skills across facility equipment


Advanced Electrician (Electrician IV–V)

  • Independently troubleshoots and repairs complex electrical systems
  • Adjust parameters on VFDs, soft starters, and motor controls
  • Troubleshoots PLC-controlled systems and electrical instrumentation
  • Perform emergency repairs with minimal supervision
  • Safely tests and verifies voltage on low, medium, and high voltage systems
  • Direct and monitors contractors as required
  • Identifies field issues, inefficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities


Lead / Senior Electrician (Electrician VI – Leadman)

  • Plans, designs, and lays out wiring for new or replacement equipment
  • Leads, mentors, and trains junior electricians
  • Coordinates work assignments and support maintenance planning
  • Overseas electrical safety compliance and quality of work
  • Demonstrates plant-wide control system knowledge and PLC software usage
  • Communicates directly with planners, supervisors, and other departments
  • Reviews crew documentation and ensure accurate reporting
  • Supports continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
  • Uses PLC software for troubleshooting, improvements, and plant network visibility
  • Develops, edits, and maintains PLC programs to support equipment upgrades, reliability improvements, and control modifications (coding/programming responsibility at Leadman level). 


Safety & Compliance

  • Full compliance with NEC, MSHA regulations, Arc Flash standards, PPE requirements, and LOTO procedures
  • Performs all work using safe practices and approved procedures
  • Maintains reliability and professionalism during routine and emergency conditions


What You Bring

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics
  • Punctual, reliable, and able to follow instructions
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn and advance technical skills
  • Entry Level: 1–2+ years industrial electrical experience preferred
  • Mid-Level: 5–7+ years industrial or mining electrical experience preferred
  • Lead Level: 7+ years industrial experience and demonstrated leadership capability
  • Mining experience is strongly preferred at all levels


Preferred Qualifications

  • State electrician license or certification
  • Experience in mining or MSHA-regulated environments
  • Experience with crushers, conveyors, processing plants, and refinery equipment
  • Internal experience with Golden Queen Mining Company
