THIS IS A FULL TIME PAID INTERNSHIP IN FERMOY, IRELAND.


Position Summary:

The Project Engineering Intern is responsible for working with Project Engineering team to design, specify and commission new and renovated biopharmaceutical process and clean utility equipment.

  • This will be a 10-12 week program over summer break.
  • Hours will be Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5.00pm onsite in Fermoy.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead independent summer project/s focused on improving the design, cost and manufacturability of ABEC’s projects.
  • Assist in various stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Participate in frequent meetings as it relates to the progress of projects.
  • Support the creation and review of key Engineering / Design documentation (i.e. P+ID’s, GA’s, Detailed Design Drawings, BOM’s).
  • Perform calculations required for equipment verification and component sizing.
  • Support Company Designers on Engineering-related deliverables while meeting customer expectations for equipment requirements related to form, fit and function.
  • Evaluate and report project status.
  • Ability to work in a professional team-based office environment and meet date-driven customer-focused commitments.
  • Will play an active role in identifying and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunity.
  • Execute other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Obtaining bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, chemical, or biomedical)
  • Ability to collect, organize and analyze data.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite products such as Excel and Word, some working knowledge of 3D modelling software such as Autodesk.
  • Ability to read technical drawings.
  • Ability to collaborate and fully engage with colleagues and external partners.
  • Ability to organize work and engage in a variety of tasks.

  • Self-motivated
