Receiving Supervisor
Description

 

The Receiving Supervisor has a very important role in ensuring product integrity of seed received at the plant. 


Essential job functions may include but not limited to:

· Performing work activities safely and in compliance with company Quality Management System.

· Verifying hilum purity, moisture content, contaminants and mechanical damage by performing a soak test on every truck load of seed received prior to unloading

· Thorough cleaning of all equipment in order to maintain product integrity

· Safely climb stairs and/or ladders to monitor and adjust equipment

· Ensure product integrity by avoiding variety mixtures in receiving bins

· Assist in coordinating seed arrival from on-farm storage

· Assists the Conditioning Supervisor and Conditioning Operator in the conditioning tower as needed

· Lead other employees in the receiving area

· Maintaining a neat, clean, and organized work area

Requirements

 

  • Agricultural/Seed Handling or related experience preferred
  • 0-3 years related experience preferred
  • Excellent communications skills with positive attitude
  • Attentive to detail and accuracy
  • Cooperative and willing to assist others
  • Ability to use computer applications
  • Well organized
  • Some equipment maintenance experience preferred
  • Background in logistics/scheduling is helpful
