General Summary:
Our DME Coordinator/Centralized Scheduling plays an important part in the daily operation of our clinics. This role partners with other clinic staff and administrative team members to ensure our patients receive excellent care. Our DME Coordinators a deeply rooted compassion for helping our patients and are committed to making sure our operations run smoothly. The DME Coordinator position is a non-exempt position responsible for making sure all durable medical equipment is fitted and dispensed, as ordered by the physician, from the DME store (BracePlace). The Physical Therapy Centralized Scheduling role is a nonexempt position responsible for initial patient contact and front office duties associated with a patient appointment to a physician’s office.
Responsibilities Include:
· Fitting and educating patients with the appropriate DME as ordered by the physician.
· Inventory control.
· Collection of pre-payments for DME items.
· Maintains DME vendor relationships developed by Tennessee Orthopaedic Clinics, PC.
· Looks patients in the eye and welcomes patient with excellent customer service.
· Checking in and/or checking out patients for physician appointments.
· Verification of patient’s demographics, PCP, referring physician, insurance coverage and co-pay, at time of visit.
· Entering patient demographic information in the practice management system.
· Verifies and distributes patient history.
· Scans/sorts all forms related to front office processes.
· Manages and coordinates all internal referrals.
· Scheduling return appointments for patients.
· Collection of copayments, patient balances and form fees.
· Distributes requested documents to patients.
· Completes/balances end of day batch processes.
· Maintains and communicates patient wait times.
Education:
· High school diploma required
· College degree in exercise sciences preferred.
Experience:
· Previous retail and medical experience is preferred.
