Description

Main Purpose:

The Assembler is responsible for the mechanical and electrical assembly and wiring of a product while ensuring quality and safety.  This position is located in Houston, Texas at our Englobal Fabrication and Integration Shop.


Essential Functions:

  • Perform all tasks with a mindset of Safety First, including executing stop work authority if you experience or witness an unsafe situation
  • Assemble mechanical components according to work instructions, drawings, schematics and diagrams
  • Follow detailed assembly layouts indicating screw, rivet and component placement
  • Use hand tools—including screwdrivers, rivet tools, drills and other basic equipment—to complete assembly tasks
  • Maintain accuracy and consistency in an assembly-line environment while meeting production targets
  • Inspect parts and assemblies to ensure quality and compliance with standards
  • Assist in the installation of electrical-related hardware such as lights and receptacle boxes
  • Identify and report any defects, missing parts, drawings or Bill of Materials (BOMs) discrepancies to leadership immediately
  • Keep a clean work area and assist in cleaning the office and shop
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing, feeling, talking, hearing and seeing
  • Turning, twisting, bending and balancing
  • Pushing, pulling and reaching
  • Must be able to lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50-75 pounds

Job Requirements:

  • 1+ years experience in mechanical assembly or similar skill set
  • Must be able to digest instructions and supervisor guidance with minimal repeats of training
  • Must be able to read a tape measure with accuracy and repeatability
  • Must be able to use hand tools, including in-tight drills, screwdrivers and other mechanical assembly equipment
  • Must be able to work weekends and overtime
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen
  • Must be able to pass a background check

Desirable Experience, Education and Training:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience operating various machines and presses preferred
  • Experience in a production or manufacturing environment preferred

Tools, Equipment and Technology:

  • Hand tools, screwdriver, in-tight drill, tape measure, assembly drawings etc.

Environmental Conditions:

80 to 90% of the work activities are performed indoors within our Englobal Fabrication and I&E Integration Shop.  Individuals will be required to work in changes of temperature, hot, cold, humid and dry conditions, dust, mud etc.
