Chiller Mechanic (10+ Years Experience)

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Chiller Mechanic with 10+ years of hands-on experience diagnosing, repairing, overhauling, and commissioning commercial and industrial chillers. This position requires deep technical expertise in centrifugal, screw, and scroll chillers, strong troubleshooting abilities, and the ability to work independently in critical environments.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional who can lead complex service calls, mentor junior technicians, and represent the company professionally with customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose,      repair, overhaul, and maintain:
  • Air-cooled       chillers
  • Water-cooled       chillers
  • Centrifugal       chillers
  • Screw       and scroll chillers
• Perform      start-ups and commissioning of new and existing equipment
• Conduct      major repairs including compressor rebuilds and tube bundle work
• Troubleshoot      advanced controls, VFDs, and building automation system integration
• Analyze      oil samples and refrigeration circuits
• Perform      vibration analysis and system performance diagnostics
• Maintain      detailed service documentation and reports
• Provide      technical guidance to junior mechanics and apprentices
• Communicate      clearly with customers regarding findings, recommendations, and system      performance
• Ensure      compliance with safety regulations and company standards

 Required Qualifications

• Minimum      10 years of commercial/industrial chiller experience
• Strong      working knowledge of:
  • Refrigeration       cycles
  • Oil       management systems
  • Microprocessor       controls
  • VFDs
  • BAS       systems
• Valid      driver’s license with clean driving record
• Ability      to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability      to lift 50+ lbs. and work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and industrial      settings
• Be a      current member of Pipe Fitters Local 211 or willing to become a member

Preferred Qualifications

• OEM      training certifications
• Experience      with magnetic bearing chillers
• Ability      to mentor and train apprentices and junior technicians
