Quality Control Technician
Description

The Quality Control (QC) Technician supports safe, efficient production by sampling, testing, documenting, and reporting results for aggregates and/or related materials in accordance with company procedures and applicable specifications. This role performs routine laboratory and field testing, maintains accurate records, and communicates quality trends and out-of-spec conditions to operations so corrective actions can be taken.

Requirements
  •  Collect representative samples from stockpiles, bins, barges, belts, trucks, and/or production points following established      sampling methods.
  • Perform routine QC testing (e.g., gradation/sieve analysis, moisture, specific gravity/absorption, unit weight, cleanliness, and other aggregate-related tests as assigned) per applicable procedures and standards.
  • Visually inspect material stockpiles and production streams for quality concerns (e.g., oversize, contamination, segregation,      moisture issues) and promptly communicate findings.
  • Calculate and track production/processing metrics as needed (e.g., tons per hour, blend proportions) to support consistent      product quality.
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly QC reports and submissions as required.
  • Maintain lab equipment, tools, and testing areas; perform routine calibrations/checks and coordinate repairs when needed.
  • Support material blending activities by verifying target blend ratios and documenting blend adjustments.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures, including use of PPE, safe lifting, and working around mobile equipment and moving      conveyors.
  • Maintain orderly records (paper and/or electronic) to ensure traceability, audit readiness, and compliance with internal and      external requirements.
  • Collaborate with plant/operations leadership to investigate nonconformances and verify effectiveness of corrective actions.
