We are hiring a Network Administrator, come join our team! This position is a hybrid role based in Oshkosh, WI.
SUMMARY
The Network Administrator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the stability and performance of computer networks. The role will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and security of our network infrastructure, ensuring seamless communication and data transfer across the organization. The role’s expertise will be crucial in minimizing downtime, optimizing network resources, safeguarding our digital assets and shaping network policy decisions.
FUNCTIONS
Essential Functions:
- Recommend, design, and deploy resilient modern networks.
- Install and configure network infrastructure equipment such as switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points in commonly used configurations.
- Configure and maintain cloud-based services such as email, identity management, device management, and other services as requested by each district or agency.
- Maintain professional behavior while maintaining and troubleshooting production systems that are used by up to thousands of users.
- Maintain a good reputation as a CESA 6 technology professional in online communities.
- Quickly learn and support new technology as requested by agency and member districts.
- Work remotely or drive to work onsite, in order to provide the best possible service each day.
- Produce documentation for team members and clients.
- Balance and prioritize responsibilities as they arise from CESA 6 and district members, multitasking as needed throughout the day.
- Maintain relationships with vendors.
Other Functions:
- Use a helpdesk/ticketing system as a technician to support clients.
- Host and participate in meetings with the tools commonly used by clients and agency staff.
- Work with students as requested by a district or agency member, to resolve a specific problem
- Provide training for district technology staff to allow them to support systems that you have implemented or to expand their professional reach.
- Provide training for district teaching staff to help them as end-users, to properly use the systems you have implemented or support for them.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Experience, Education and/or Licensure:
- Associated degree in computer science.
- 3+ years experience with a core focus on Networking and Network Administration.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
- Fluent with PowerShell.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+) desired.
- Wireless Standards and Organization; 802.11 Network Architecture.
- Wireless LAN Security.
- Working knowledge of identity federation such as Azure AD.
- Working knowledge of Azure AD networking and configuration.
- Working knowledge of Meraki, Aruba, and Cisco network operating systems.
- Working knowledge of common network infrastructure hardware configuration systems (command-line and GUI).
- Experience managing small to medium complexity virtual environments. Experience with multiple hypervisors is valued.
- Troubleshooter-level understanding of networking protocols and standards commonly used in a Small-to-Medium sized business environment including:
- VLANs
- ARP
- R/STP
- LLDP/CDP
- Layer 2/3 Networking
- OSPFv2/v3 & Static Routing
- IPv4, NAT
- DHCP, DNS, ICMP
- FTP, HTTP/S, SMB
- IPSec/SSL VPN
- SAML/SSO
- SMTP

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work Environment:
- Ability to work in a professional and flexible office environment, with or without visual and audible distractions.
- Ability to work in a school environment, with or without visual and audible distractions.
- The position may require extended hours, including evenings and weekends, travel to multiple work sites, and occasional out-of-town travel.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to drive to remote locations as needed.
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
- Must have the stamina to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
- Must have adequate vision and hearing to troubleshoot network issues and identify equipment status lights.
- The employee must be able to communicate effectively.
- The employee may occasionally lift or move technology equipment and supplies up to 40 pounds.
