Role 1: Commercial HVAC Service Technician (Lead / Senior) 

Location / Territory
Charlotte, NC and surrounding metro area; occasional support into Greensboro and nearby coverage zones as needed

Role Summary 

Landmark Services Group is hiring a Commercial HVAC Service Technician to support its Charlotte-area commercial service operations. This person will handle a variety of field service work across retail, facility-managed, and select in-house accounts, with a strong emphasis on independent troubleshooting, clean communication, and professional customer presence. 

This is a strong fit for a seasoned technician who can manage commercial HVAC service calls, document work clearly, and represent the company well in the field. Candidates with broader versatility across service, install support, and light boiler exposure will stand out. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Diagnose, service, and repair commercial HVAC systems across Charlotte-area accounts 
  • Troubleshoot package units, commercial split systems, RTUs, and related HVAC equipment 
  • Service rooftop units up to approximately 25 tons 
  • Work on water-source heat pumps and chilled water fan coil units 
  • Support occasional boiler-related work and learn additional boiler applications as needed 
  • Perform maintenance, service calls, and limited install-related field tasks as needed 
  • Communicate clearly with dispatch, operations, and management through the company’s field software 
  • Enter detailed, accurate, and timely service notes for each call 
  • Maintain a clean, professional vehicle and organized work environment 
  • Represent Landmark professionally with customers on site 
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to urgent service needs when scheduled 
  • Travel locally throughout the Charlotte metro and nearby markets as assigned

  • Completes service calls accurately and efficiently 
  • Produces clear, usable notes that reduce follow-up confusion 
  • Maintains strong attendance, responsiveness, and on-call reliability 
  • Represents the company professionally with customers and facility partners 
  • Minimizes callbacks through clean troubleshooting and quality workmanship 
  • Supports team growth by handling a broad range of field issues independently

Requirements

 Required Qualifications 

  • 8+ years of HVAC experience, with meaningful commercial service experience 
  • Strong experience with package units, commercial split systems, and RTUs 
  • Experience servicing commercial equipment up to 25 tons 
  • Familiarity with water-source heat pumps and chilled water fan coil units 
  • EPA certification 
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record 
  • Strong verbal communication and written documentation skills 
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Boiler experience 
  • Installation experience 
  • Exposure to light residential work 
  • Journeyman license 
  • Experience with higher-end or less common systems such as VAV-type or dehumidification applications 
  • Experience working with dispatch/service software in the field
