General Manager
Description

The Four Points by Sheraton Suites Tampa Airport Westshore, managed by StepStone Hospitality is a growing hotel management company focused on delivering exceptional guest experiences while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and leadership development across its portfolio.  

The General Manager (GM) is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and financial performance of the hotel. This role ensures operational excellence across all departments while driving revenue growth, guest satisfaction, and team engagement.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong operational expertise, financial acumen, and a passion for hospitality excellence. 


Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Operations

  • Oversee all hotel departments: Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Sales, and Engineering 
  • Lead, mentor, and develop department heads and team members 
  • Ensure compliance with Marriott brand standards and company policies 
  • Act as the primary decision-maker for daily operations 

Financial Performance

  • Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and P&L performance 
  • Drive RevPAR, ADR, and occupancy through strategic initiatives 
  • Control labor and operational costs while maintaining service quality 

Guest Experience

  • Ensure exceptional guest service and high satisfaction scores 
  • Monitor online reputation and implement service recovery strategies 
  • Maintain strong presence in the lobby and guest-facing areas 

Sales & Revenue Strategy

  • Partner with Sales & Marketing to drive group, corporate, and transient business 
  • Build relationships with local businesses and community stakeholders 
  • Analyze market trends and competitor performance 

Compliance & Asset Management

  • Ensure compliance with safety, legal, and brand requirements 
  • Maintain property condition, preventative maintenance, and capital planning 
  • Work with ownership and corporate leadership on long-term strategy 

Qualification

  • 5–10+ years of progressive hotel leadership experience 
  • Previous General Manager or Assistant General Manager experience preferred 
  • Strong knowledge of hotel operations, finance, and revenue management 
  • Proven leadership and team development skills 
  • Marriott brand experience strongly preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred 
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities 

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with select-service or all-suite hotel operations 
  • Knowledge of the Tampa market 
  • Familiarity with hotel systems (PMS, revenue management tools, etc.)
