The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Clinical Director with daily oversight of the 

Substance Use Behavioral Health Residential Facility. The Clinical Supervisor works with the Clinical Director in developing, directing and supervising the clinical processes, programming and employees delivering substance use treatment to men, women and families. 


  

Duties/Responsibilities 


• Provides administrative and clinical supervision to employees with timely submission of clinical supervision documentation. 

• Supervision of weekly clinical case staffing. 

• Prepares and delivers formal evaluations of employee performance as needed and as required. 

• Informs employees on Axiom Care Policies and Procedures, Licensure requirements and any contract terms. 

• Reviews and signs off on clinical documentation as part of clinical and utilization review as appropriate. 

• Ensure in-service education and training to all clinical employees to ensure quality clinical care and compliance with licensing requirements. 

• Oversees and approves the curriculum and clinical treatment programs to reflect the needs of the population served. 

• Responsible for ensuring the fidelity of the curriculum is maintained, update as appropriate. 

• Upholds policies and procedures for quality care and accuracy of client records. 

• Actively participate in interdisciplinary clinical and leadership team meetings and case staffings. 

• Ensure clinical employees maintain compliance of documentation completion on the same day as date of service as per Axion Care policy. 

• Actively participates with leadership team to prepare and/or revise agency-wide clinical policy and procedures. 

• Responsible for compliance with licensing requirements and annual inspections. 

• Maintain good standing with the AZBBHE and complete all continuing education requirements. 

• Provide licensure supervision for unlicensed and identified AZBBHE Associate licensed employees, as appropriate.

•  Provide oversight for interns as appropriate. 

• Promotes inclusion through Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) Standards.

• Provides oversight and leadership to employees in absence of Clinical Manager. 

• Promotes mission, vision, and values of the Axiom Care program. 

• Perform other duties as assigned. 


Supervisory Responsibilities 


· Selecting, orienting, training, coaching, assigning, scheduling and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation; adhering to policies and procedures. 

· Provide Clinical Supervision to Associate Licensed staff seeking independent licensure with AZBBHE. 

· As the Clinical Supervisor for a 24/7 residential facility, this role requires availability for on-call duties outside regular hours to support onsite staff.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

 

• Must be proficient in computer applications and electronic medical record systems. 

• Proficient with Microsoft Office and related software. 

• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, their loved ones and professionals in both written and oral format. 

• Ability to make calm sound decisions in emergency situations. 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret human service periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 

• Strong assessment skills. 

• Strong time management skills. 

• Strong clinical skills. 

• Working knowledge of ASAM. 

• Requires strong managerial and leadership skills. 

• Demonstrates a working knowledge of local, state and federal standards and State Licensure requirements. 

• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and analyze policies and procedures. 

• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. 

• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 

• Experience working with diverse populations and socioeconomic backgrounds. 

• Experience working with Native American population preferred. 

• Working knowledge of twelve step programs of recovery and other models of self-help options in the community 

• Ability to have conversations with clients about harm reduction strategies. 


Qualification Requirements 


• Minimum one year of supervisory experience in substance use field. 

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a minimum of a Master's Degree in 

Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or health-related field 

• Independent licensed with the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (LPC, LMFT, LCSW, LISAC/LIAC), Independent Licensed preferred will consider Associate level license with expectation of obtaining Independent License within 6 months of hire.

• Fingerprint Clearance Card upon hire

• Current First Aid/CPR certification within 90 days of hire

• Negative TB Test result within the last 12 months

• Individual Counselling – Understand theory, functions, and techniques of individual counselling. Describe, select, and use appropriate strategies. 

• Documentation – Understand regulations, prepare accurate, concise notes, write comprehensive, clear psychosocial narrative. Record client progress in relation to treatment goals and discharge summaries. 


Physical Requirements: 

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on computer. 

• Able to sit, stand, walk with/without accommodations. 

• The employee must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
