Summary

The Data Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting operational and production data with a focus on cost metrics and pricing analysis to support informed decision-making across manufacturing functions. This role partners with production, engineering, operations, and finance teams to monitor cost drivers, evaluate pricing trends, and deliver actionable insights that improve margins and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate brings a strong analytical mindset, hands-on experience with manufacturing data environments, and the ability to translate complex cost and pricing data into clear, accessible reporting for stakeholders at all levels.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, and validate data from ERP, MES, and other production systems to ensure data integrity and consistency across the organization. 
  • Create and maintain custom data-mining queries to produce actionable insights that support pricing decisions and business strategy. 
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, standardized reports, and performance monitoring tools that track key operational and financial KPIs across business units. 
  • Analyze cost metrics including material, labor, and overhead to identify variances, cost-saving opportunities, and margin performance. 
  • Support pricing analysis by developing tiered pricing models for critical vs. commodity parts and maintaining spare parts price lists that account for storage, freight, and carrying costs. 
  • Use statistical models to predict spare parts consumption trends, preventing out-of-stock on critical components while reducing overstock on slow-moving inventory. 
  • Categorize parts by criticality and usage frequency; identify and phase out obsolete or non-moving inventory to reclaim warehouse space and capital. 
  • Analyze supplier lead times and shipping data to recommend inventory adjustments ensuring global service levels are met without excessive stock. 
  • Create and distribute ad hoc reports and financial models tailored to specific business needs. 
  • Partner with department leaders to develop improvement initiatives using financial data and key analysis, and meet with cross-functional teams to educate, explain findings, and ensure data integrity. 
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of operational processes to explain variances and respond to inquiries from leadership and stakeholders. 
  • Identify opportunities to build or recommend tools and solutions that enable teammates to solve problems not currently supported by existing systems.


Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
  • Ability to successfully work in a cross-functional team.  
  • Ability to effectively present information to all levels of the organization through the use of industry-specific tools. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to respond to questions from managers, production supervisors, production personnel, and customers in a timely manner.
  • Possess strong organizational and attention to detail/accuracy skills. 
  • Possess advanced analytical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Ability to present pricing analysis reports to relevant stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in business intelligence (BI) and reporting tools such as Power BI and Infor Intelligence; 
  • Proficiency with ERP & CRM systems (SyteLine, Salesforce, or other similar software).
  • In-depth knowledge of statistical methods and data analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to stay current on industry trends, pricing dynamics, and market developments relevant to manufacturing and spare parts.
  • Ability to travel 15% by air, car, or other reasonable means.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, accounting/finance, economics, or related field is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ related experience required, preference for experience from an industrial or manufacturing environment.  
  • Experience collaborating with sales, supply chain, and marketing departments to support or inform pricing strategies
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g.,Infor Syteline or similar platforms) to manage and analyze spare part data.
  • Proficiency in SQL and advanced MS Excel (VBA, pivot tables, modeling) to query and analyze large datasets.

Salary Description
$75,000.00 - $90,000.00 p / y + bonus
