Job Summary:
Provides support for all materials handling roles to include shipping, receiving, materials inventory management and cycle counts. Works in a team environment. Complies with company requirements for defined materials handling processes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform duties initially in one of 3 areas:
- Receiving
- Shipping
- Materials inventory management and cycle counts
(Develop skills to be able to perform duties in all 3 areas.)
- Load and unload trucks
- Use forklift and maintains forklift certification
- Receive, unpack and check incoming materials for correct quantities, defects, and damage. Perform system receipt transactions. Deliver received goods to the correct plant locations.
- Maintain inventory integrity by ensuring that all inventory is correctly received, labelled, and stored
- Prepare products for domestic and international shipment
- Ensures that shipments are properly packed, marked and labelled
- Prepares and checks all shipping documentation
- Schedules freight carriers for shipment delivery & pick up
- Participate in physical inventory counts.
- Coordinate activities with materials team members, finance, quality, manufacturing operations, purchasing and customer service.
- Communicate respectfully and professionally at all times while working in a team environment.
- Support internal and external customers
- Accurately complete paperwork and meets deadlines.
- Accurately retrieve and record data into Microsoft programs and ERP system.
- Comply with quality system policies
- Follow all safety guidelines established by the company, including proper use of safety equipment and relevant safety procedures.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Schedule
- Monday - Friday 8-hour shifts or Tuesday - Friday 6:00am-4:30pm
Work Environment:
- May be exposed to noise, dust, fumes, airborne particles, smoke (Not over OSHA Permissible Exposure Levels).
- Bending, twisting, and working from aerial lifts and in confined spaces, lifting up to 25-45lbs on an occasional basis.
- Safety training and equipment are provided by MPP in accordance with applicable law, industry standards and company policy.
