Summary:
The Progressive Die Setter is responsible for setting up progressive dies, single hit dies, and form dies in punch presses.
Shift:
Monday - Friday 7:00am-3:30pm but hours could vary
Essential Job Duties:
- Set up and install progressive dies into stamping presses according to job specifications and production schedules.
- Adjust press settings (feed length, shut height, sensors, etc.) to ensure proper operation and part quality.
- Perform first-piece inspections and make necessary adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and part consistency.
- Operate presses safely and efficiently, monitoring output for defects or abnormalities.
- Troubleshoot and correct problems related to die performance, material feed, or machine function.
- Maintain accurate production records, including part counts, setup times, and maintenance logs.
- Follow all safety procedures and report any hazards, defects, or malfunctions to supervision immediately.
- Assist in continuous improvement efforts for die setup processes, tooling efficiency, and production flow.
- May be assigned other duties to support overall production and company goals.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or apprenticeship preferred.
- 1 year of operating preferred
- Willingness to train on set up
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of stamping press operations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, job travelers, and inspection documents.
- Proficient in using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools.
- Knowledge of die components and basic die maintenance practices.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
