Setup Technician - 2nd shift
Description

The Setup Technician I will report to the Maintenance Supervisor. The Setup Technician I will act upon specific written and/or verbal instructions furnished by the Maintenance Supervisor to set-up plant equipment correctly for operation and effectively use time to meet company goals. 


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Set-up/operate pharmaceutical-processing/packaging equipment in conformance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), clean rooms and equipment according  to standard procedures and perform varied preventive maintenance duties. 
  • Performing set-up and adjustments to manufacturing/packaging equipment to ensure assigned machines run at peak efficiency and operations are within the cGMP guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)..
  • Set-up/operate miscellaneous related equipment, repair and/or report defects.
  • Will work directly with maintenance to ensure that all equipment is in proper working/running condition with no Quality Errors.
  • Complete PMs in the Packaging area, as scheduled by the CMMS Program.
  • Create Work Orders to maintain a Safe and Productive Packaging Line.
  • In      addition, the Setup Technician will organize work to achieve daily goals with no errors or deficiencies, follow and adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures and Safety Precautions.
  • Perform other assigned duties as may be required in meeting company objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments within the organization and function within a team environment. 
  • Parts inventory control by documenting parts used with Packaging Asset. 
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • Will be required to work overtime to complete PMs and/or repairs during downtime, if needed.
Requirements

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Previous experience and/or process knowledge in a Maintenance Role is a plus. 
  • Must be able to work at a fast pace to achieve daily goals. 
  • Must have mechanical aptitude and the ability to use basic hand tools. 
  • Regularly required to stand and bend 
  • Must be able to use hands and arms to lift and reach 
  • Ability to climb up and down stairs
  • Ability to stand and walk for a minimum of 8 hours
  • Ability to lift, pull and push a  minimum of 50 pounds
  • Ability to use both arms to push, pull or lift.
  • Ability to bend and squat

Education and Experience: This position requires a high school diploma or GED with a minimum of 3 years of experience as a mechanic in a GMP or Pharmaceutical environment. 2 years of an Industrial Maintenance Program a plus, but not required.
