Description
This position is responsible for the Block Department support as listed below for Texas Speed and
Performance.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Engine Tear Down Process (Label components and maintain traceability)
- Visual Inspection of all blocks from start to finish
- Hone main bores and fit main bearings.
- Hone cylinder bores
- Hone Rods and fit rod bearings
- Prep blocks and visually inspect blocks before machining
- Prep blocks for engine builds (install cam bearings and plugs)
- Prep sleeves and block for sleeving (deburr sleeves / heat block in oven)
- Sleeve Installation Lead
- Maintains positive working relationship with manufacturing personnel and other staff members to support a positive workplace environment.
- Responsible for implementing and enforcing industry standard safety procedures throughout the block department.
- Performs and executes all other duties assigned by direct manager.
Requirements
- Dynamic, high-energy individual with a track record as an effective communicator and uses a collaborative approach to problem solving.
- Exceptional Mechanical Abilities
- 2+ Years’ Experience using Cylinder Hone and Line Hone Equipment
- 5+ Years Engine Building Experience Preferred
- Be able to use Measuring Equipment (Mics, Calipers, Bore Gauge, ect..)
