CSA Technician
Description

CSA (Customer Support Agreement) Technician for construction equipment is responsible for equipment maintenance on heavy, compact, or complimentary equipment/attachments. This role involves performing routine inspections, diagnosing mechanical issues, carrying out scheduled maintenance, and repairing or replacing parts as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

Scheduled for work to meet Customer Support Agreements with ASCENDUM’s representative coverage territory:

  • Perform services on equipment as outlined by the Support Agreement.
    1. Change filters and fluids based on specific intervals.
    2. Inspect and take pictures/videos of equipment operation, damage, and repairs.
    3. Check all applicable safety-related items, such as seatbelt operation & expiration date, mirrors, cameras, alarms, tire pressures, etc.
  • Identify wear and tear, fluid leaks, abnormal sounds, and other potential issues during inspections.

Paperwork/Computer:

  • Complete all paperwork as outlined by the supervisor.
  • Maintain and update all computer-assigned tasks as outlined by the supervisor.
  • Maintain and update all pictures/videos in the system or devices provided by ASCENDUM.
  • Software updated on machines.

Communication:

  • Notify site-specific personnel of entry and departure from the worksite (job site/shop).
  • Notify, as outlined by the supervisor, appropriate ASCENDUM personnel of job start-ups and completions.

Training and Certification:

  • ASCENDUM is an MSHA Part 48 company; certification must be kept current.
  • ASCENDUM requires certain driving records to be maintained:
    1. Outlined in the ASCENDUM Employee Handbook.
    2. Specific supervisor regulations, company standards.
    3. ASCENDUM-provided service truck/van regulations (service/logbooks as required).
  • ASCENDUM CBT (EHS, ASCENDUM Learning, etc.).
  • VOLVO service training, CBT, and ILT.
  • Other product line service/parts-specific training, CBT, and ILT.

Company Assets:

  • Technician will be provided a service truck/van, laptop, mobile phone, diagnostic tooling, etc.
  • Responsible for tracking and upkeep of all assets provided.
Requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical certifications or training, Tech school, etc.

  • Experience: Proven experience (2+ years) as a Shop technician or Rental turn technician. Other equivalent experience is a factor.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
  • Certifications: MSHA Part 48 and company required and site specific requirements.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with construction equipment manuals, tools, diagnostic equipment, and safety standards.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy parts (up to 70 lbs), bend, squat, kneel, and work in various weather conditions.
  • Valid Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license is required for transporting equipment and tools.

Work Environment:

  • Field-based, on construction sites and customer/company shops
  • Work may involve exposure to outdoor elements, heavy machinery, and construction site hazards.
