Description

The Surface Landman I is a highly motivated land professional with 3–5 years of experience supporting surface operations, drilling programs, and cross-functional field activities. This role requires strong communication skills, technical proficiency, and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and effective in both office and field environments with a drive to improve technical proficiencies.


Key Responsibilities 

  • Secure all required surface agreements to support Operations and Drilling Programs.
  • Obtain all necessary state and county permits.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for landowner communications and resolve concerns.
  • Manage administrative tasks associated with surface agreements and documentation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years in land experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel.
  • Experience with Esri/ArcGIS preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Job is classified as light physical work primarily in an office setting involving sitting, with intermittent periods of stooping, walking and standing.
  • May occasionally be required to lift, carry, push or pull 10-25 pounds.
  • Potential exposure to noise levels requiring the use of hearing protection.
  • Some work may be performed in outside weather conditions, including rain and extreme cold and heat, near moving mechanical parts; exposure to high wind, ice, snow, wet and/or humid conditions, vibration, and dust is expected.
