Job Summary
The Paramedic is responsible for providing Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) care to critically ill or injured patients and safely transporting patients to appropriate medical facilities. This role requires sound clinical judgment, technical proficiency, and the ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide emergency medical care, including BLS and ALS interventions, to patients in pre-hospital and transport settings
- Assess patient conditions and determine appropriate treatment protocols
- Safely transport patients while continuously monitoring and documenting patient status
- Communicate effectively with emergency department staff, healthcare providers, and public safety partners
- Maintain required certifications and participate in ongoing education and training opportunities

Education and Experience
- Minimum of six (6) months of experience in an emergency medical services setting preferred
- Ongoing commitment to professional development through in-services, seminars, hospital-based education, and technical or paramedic-focused training
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
- Current South Carolina Paramedic certification required
- Current certifications required:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
