What You Bring

Duties

As an Armed Security Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of stakeholders and the facility. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Enforcing access control measures to permit entry only to authorized individuals, packages, and vehicles
  • Operating walk-through and hand-held metal detectors, as well as x-ray machines, to screen individuals and items
  • Identifying and addressing security threats according to established protocols
  • Preventing, detecting, and apprehending individuals attempting unauthorized access or violating laws
  • Executing emergency procedures and providing security assistance during crises
  • Conducting roving guard services and perimeter/interior patrols to identify security breaches and unsafe conditions
  • Monitoring and operating various security systems, including intrusion detection, surveillance, and access control systems
  • Providing escort and courier services for the safe transportation of personnel and property
  • Performing emergency responses, including CPR, AED, and first aid, as needed
  • Maintaining accurate reports, records, and logs
  • Ability to remain mentally alert and physically ready to enforce contract requirements
  • Utilizing firearm when necessary, following established guidelines
  • Delivering exceptional customer service to facility employees and visitors

Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet ALL of the following requirements, and examination results must be favorable as defined by contractual standards:


Experience (Must have a minimum of 2 of the following)

  • Minimum of 3 years of armed security officer experience in commercial security, military, or law enforcement
  • Active, retired, or honorably discharged service member of any US Armed Forces, National Guard, or Reserve service
  • Associate degree or completion of twenty-four college credits
  • Graduation from a law enforcement basic training academy and a minimum of 1 year working in law enforcement 

Education

  • High school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

  • Minimum age requirement: 21 years
  • US citizenship or lawful permanent residency for current members of the U.S. Armed Services or individuals with an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Military
  • State Guard License
  • Possession of valid State-issued Driver's License
  • Ability to obtain favorable verification through the E-Verify system
  • Fluent in spoken, written, and comprehended English
  • Proficiency with firearms
  • Ability to handle common and crisis situations at the client site calmly and efficiently
  • Professional demeanor

  • Ability to operate communication equipment, computers, and surveillance systems.
  • May be exposed to stressful or emergency situations involving injured, distressed, or combative individuals.
  • Requires frequent interaction with staff, visitors, and the public.
  • Work schedules may include days, nights, weekends, holidays, and extended or rotating shifts depending on operational needs.
  • Must be able to remain alert, focused, and responsive throughout the shift.

Other Requirements

  •  Able to obtain and maintain required clearance/suitability and base access via comprehensive background investigation
  •  Successful completion of Medical/Physical examination and Drug testing with favorable results
  •  Successful completion of New Hire Academy training (includes CPR, First Aid, Baton, Screening, OC spray, Use of Force)
  •  Successful passing of firearms qualifications.

Physical/Mental Requirements and Working Environment

Candidates must be able to:

  •  Stand, walk, run for extended periods
  •  Work outdoors in various weather conditions
  •  Work extended shifts and overtime when necessary.
