Job Description  

Service Plumbers are responsible for cutting, gluing, welding, and other installations means and methods for piping, fixtures, and other plumbing systems. Ensure quality control is applied & implemented for the operation of all plumbing systems. Travel as needed is required. 

Requirements

 

Job Responsibilities (List is not inclusive) 

  • Assemble, install, maintain, and pressure test all pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, drainage, and gas systems according to specifications and plumbing codes.   
  • Determine sources of plumbing malfunctions and complete repairs as indicated or according to work orders.   
  • Locate and mark positions for connections and fixtures.  
  • Install and repair pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and plumbing system equipment, including sinks, commodes, water heaters, water softeners, etc.; install supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures, and equipment.   
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks and waste and drainage systems.   
  • Plan, install and service plumbing systems, fixtures, piping equipment and controls, test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks.   
  • Receive and complete work orders.   
  • Select material and hardware and make time and materials estimates.   
  • Maintain accurate records on material and labor used.   
  • Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and materials.   
  • Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean.   
  • Work with supervisors to complete projects.   

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities  

  • Learn quickly and adapt to a variety of technology, tools, instructions, and task methods.   
  • Meet deadlines in terms of work assignment schedules.   
  • Interact daily in person with other members of the department and school district staff and possess comfortable interpersonal skills and cooperative attitudes.   
  • Maintain consistent attendance due to the urgent nature of duties and because work product of position is interdependent with that of other staff.   
  • Convey an understanding, patient attitude toward others. 

Education and Experience 

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.  
  • OSHA 30 Certification required.  
  • 3 plus years of experience is required.  

Physical Requirements  

  • Required to stand, walk, and sit. 
  • Talk or hear, both in person and by telephone. 
  • Use hand (s) and fingers to handle or feel objects or controls.  
  • Reach with hand (s) and arm (s).  
  • Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 50 pounds.
