Job Summary:

 Hanover Bank is looking for a full-time Branch Manager to join our team. The Branch Manager (“BM”) is responsible for developing and executing strategies to drive small business and consumer deposit growth, market share expansion, and profitability across multiple branches. This role leads a high-performance, sales and service culture, ensuring consistent execution of proactive client engagement, business development, and relationship deepening.

The BM is accountable for instilling sales and service disciplines, outbound prospecting activity, and pipeline management across the designated branch locations, with a strong emphasis on deposit growth. Assistant Branch Managers report directly to the BM and are coached to execute against clearly defined sales and service expectations.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

  

Sales Leadership & Market Development

  • Lead the execution of a proactive, relationship-based sales strategy across all branches, with a primary focus on retail and small business deposit growth.
  • Establish and enforce activity-based sales expectations (outbound calls, appointments, COI touches, pipeline reviews) for all branch staff.
  • Build and actively manage a personal and team pipeline of business opportunities, ensuring consistent follow-up and conversion.
  • Proactively expand the customer base through targeted prospecting, networking, and COI relationship development (accountants, attorneys, real estate professionals, and local business organizations).
  • Maintain a visible presence in the market by participating in community events, and local networking groups to generate new business opportunities.
  • Identify market trends and competitive opportunities to refine branch-level deposit growth and client acquisition strategies.

Client Relationship Management & Proactive Service Culture

  • Champion a proactive service model, ensuring team members engage clients in meaningful financial conversations that uncover needs and drive solutions.
  • Drive client retention and relationship growth through structured outreach, portfolio reviews, and follow-up strategies.
  • Ensure delivery of a consistent, high-touch client experience across all branches that differentiates the Bank in the marketplace.
  • Personally manage and grow a portfolio of key business and community relationships.
  • Reinforce a culture that balances exceptional service with revenue generation and relationship expansion.

Team Leadership, Coaching & Sales Performance Management

  • Build, develop, and lead a sales-driven, client-focused team, creating an environment that motivates employees to achieve and exceed goals.
  • Define clear expectations for sales behaviors, service standards, and performance outcomes.
  • Conduct weekly coaching sessions, pipeline reviews, and sales huddles to reinforce accountability and drive results.
  • Mentor Assistant Branch Managers and staff on business development techniques, consultative selling, and relationship management.
  • Conduct performance appraisals, provide continuous feedback, and implement development plans aligned with growth objectives.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Operations, Risk & Compliance Management

  • Ensure all branches operate with operational excellence, maintaining strict adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee compliance, audit readiness, security procedures, and risk management practices across all locations.
  • Balance sales growth initiatives with strong risk management discipline to protect the Bank.
  • Ensure all activities and records align with internal controls and regulatory standards.

Sales Execution & Growth Management

  • Ensure all branches meet or exceed goals for:
    • Small business and consumer deposit growth
    • New business account acquisition
    • Outbound calling efforts 
    • Referral volume and pipeline conversion
  • Drive execution of sales campaigns, promotions, and targeted outreach initiatives.
  • Monitor and manage branch performance metrics, taking proactive action to address gaps and optimize results.
  • Identify opportunities      for new products, services, and delivery channels that enhance growth and client experience.

Financial & Administrative Management

  • Manage branch expenses to ensure all locations operate within budget while supporting growth initiatives.
  • Align branch performance with objectives set by Retail Sales Management.
  • Conduct regular business reviews to assess performance, identify opportunities, and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Represent the Bank’s brand with professionalism and integrity in all interactions.
  • Assist with special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.

    • Sustained deposit growth (with emphasis on commercial balances)

Education and Experience

  • Existing COI network with a proven track record of business development and deposit growth
  • 5+ years of branch management or related leadership experience
  • Strong experience with business banking, cash management, and small business development
  • Demonstrated ability to build pipelines, generate referrals, and close new business
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory, compliance, and operational requirements

Skills and Abilities

  • Must be able to speak Cantonese/Mandarin fluently.
  • Proven ability to lead sales teams and drive measurable growth results
  • Strong business development, networking, and relationship management skills
  • Ability to translate market insights into actionable growth strategies
  • Excellent coaching and leadership capabilities
  • Strong financial and analytical skills to manage performance and profitability

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Salary: $60,000 - $72,000; placement within this range will vary based on experience and skill level.
