The purpose of the Sales & Education Manager is to manage the territory and deliver strong sales results. Territory includes Southern California down through San Deigo. Candidate needs to reside in Southern California and in close proximity to majority of call cycle locations.
What You’ll Do:
Retail Sales & Field Execution Management:
· Implement the regional manager’s brick & mortar sales strategy and deliver on store- and territory-level goals.
· Consistently exceed monthly retail sales goals across the territory.
· Directly manage and support 60+ Sephora and Ulta locations with regularly scheduled visits.
· Create and execute monthly field event strategy with 6+ corporate and store-generated activations.
· Monitor weekly sales performance and create action plans for underperforming doors.
· Conduct regular inventory reviews and escalate any stock, merchandising, or tester issues.
· Lead monthly Brand Business Reviews with store management to identify growth opportunities and align on execution.
· Ensure all locations meet brand merchandising and marketing standards, and follow retailer guidelines.
· Collaborate closely with Living Proof's internal Sales and Education teams to optimize support and execution.
· Build strong relationships with store managers, Sales & Events Managers, and District Managers in each call door.
Education & Training
· Be the go-to expert on Living Proof’s product portfolio, technology, and usage.
· Provide ongoing education to Beauty Advisors, Stylists, and internal teams on product knowledge, consultation skills, and brand storytelling.
· Train, mentor, and monitor Freelance Brand Ambassadors to deliver a best-in-class customer experience.
· Manage and distribute gratis per brand and retailer guidelines.
· Align with retailer calendars and promotional plans to drive activations, new launches, and seasonal focuses.
Remote Door Support
· Provide virtual and email support to remote stores in your region to maintain relationships.
· Plan visits to remote locations to touch every door in your call cycle quarterly in person.
· Monitor and report on remote door performance, tracking KPIs and recommending support strategies.
Freelance Talent Management
· Recruit, onboard, and manage freelance team members to ensure optimal coverage and ROI.
· Schedule bookings and provide consistent feedback and coaching to elevate performance.
Reporting & Communication
· Submit timely and accurate reports, including weekly recaps, T&E, door performance, and event recaps (within 48 hours).
· Utilize All Work platform for freelance scheduling and reporting.
· Maintain active communication with your manager and cross-functional teams via email, Teams, Slack, and All Work.
· Participate in weekly calls and regional meetings to share market insights and feedback.
· Keep regular contact with store leadership to celebrate wins, share brand updates, and align on business drivers.
· 2+ years of retail sales and education experience in the beauty industry (haircare experience preferred).
· Able to work both independently and cross-functionally with field, education, and corporate teams.
· Experience leading and executing in-store events.
· Highly organized with strong time management and follow-up skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
· Experience with All Work preferred.
· Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
· Demonstrated ability to influence sales through education and relationship building.
· Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, field-based environment.
· Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel regularly (including overnight stays).
· Must be able to travel 80% of the time within the designated territory.
· Tuesday – Saturday work week (includes some evenings).
· Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours and lift up to 30 lbs.
· Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
Annual Base Compensation: $80,000-$90,000 (commission eligible position)
