We are currently looking for an Activities Assistant for Barclay House of Baton Rouge
Primary Responsibilities of the Activities Assistant:
- Assist with managing memory care activities, keeping residents engaged with meaningful activities including but not limited to, music therapy, exercise, arts and crafts, sensory stimulation and trivia.
- Assist with implementing an annual calendar of activities and newsletter for the residents that will allow provide opportunities for residents to socialize and enjoy recreational activities each day.
- Participate in events that promote family, joy and socialization:
- Daily Programming: Offer 5-7 activities per day, including exercise, lifelong learning, creative expression, and social events.
- Multi-Sensory Approach: Incorporate sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell in activities.
- Personalized Engagement: Use memory boxes and engagement boxes to tailor activities to individual residents’ interests and needs.
- Multi-Sensory Approach: Activities incorporate sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell to provide richer, more engaging experiences that resonate with residents on a deeper level.
- Diverse Activity Programs: A wide range of activities are offered, including physical, cognitive, social, and emotional activities, ensuring that residents remain engaged and stimulated throughout the day.
Requirements
Education/Experience/ Licensure/Certification:
- Friendly, high energy, and team player!
- Must have a caring heart and willingness to serve others
- High School Diploma/GED
- Preferred experience in working with the senior population and memory care
- Valid Driver's License and Safe Driving Record
- Craft, art, exercise, experience helpful
