Responsible for accurately processing Lifeworks payroll and completing related administrative and compliance tasks, ensuring timely and error-free payroll operations.
Position Title: Payroll Specialist
Department: Finance-Payroll
Hours: Full-time; 40 hours/week, Monday – Friday (non-exempt)
Location: Lifeworks Services – Richfield, MN (Hybrid)
Compensation: $24.30 to $27.30 per hour
Bonus Eligible: Yearly

How you’ll be spending your time:
- Processing payroll for designated employee groups with accuracy and timeliness.
- Calculating and applying appropriate withholding taxes.
- Reconciling payroll transactions to ensure accuracy across assigned groups.
- Setting up and maintaining employee payroll records, including deductions and updates.
- Collaborating across departments to support consistent, reliable, and efficient payroll practices.
- Assisting with benefit deductions and enrollment processes.
- Responding to employment verification requests in a timely manner.
- Staying current on payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Providing high-quality customer service for all payroll-related inquiries.
- Setting clear performance goals and actively pursuing opportunities to enhance skills and effectiveness.
- Associate degree in Finance or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of payroll and payroll tax experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience totaling at least 5 years.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, and experience with 10-key data entry.
- Ability to navigate and interpret financial databases effectively.
- Experience with Paylocity or similar payroll systems preferred.
