About the Role:
Serve as a strategic leader guiding the agency’s transition toward a modern, scalable, and secure application ecosystem. This position is responsible for shaping the architecture that unifies legacy systems with emerging cloud-native platforms across AWS, Azure, and on-prem environments. By defining modernization pathways, advancing Zero Trust principles, and establishing standardized patterns for microservices, containerization, and observability, the architect will enable faster application onboarding, stronger security guardrails, and an enterprise-wide shift toward automated, resilient, and data-driven operations.
- Leads enterprise architecture across legacy, AWS, Azure, and on-prem systems.
- Defines modernization, Zero Trust, microservices, DevSecOps patterns.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead enterprise architecture strategy across hybrid environments (legacy, AWS, Azure, on-prem)
- Define modernization roadmaps that guide teams from legacy systems to cloud-native architectures
- Design microservices, containerization, and orchestration patterns (EKS, ECS, AKS)
- Guide CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps best practices, and enterprise security guardrails
- Review legacy decompositions and support application teams through modernization patterns
- Promote Zero Trust principles, API-first design, and policy-as-code approaches
- Collaborate with security, infrastructure, cloud, and application teams to ensure architectural alignment
Required Professional Skills:
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise, cloud, or solutions architecture
- Deep expertise with AWS, Azure, and on-prem systems
- Proven experience architecting scalable, repeatable environments for large cloud infrastructures and application pipelines
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, identity, container orchestration, and enterprise security patterns
- Experience defining architectural roadmaps and coaching teams through implementation
Preferred Professional Skills:
- Experience with Terraform, Argo CD, OPA, or Kyverno
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (or comparable)
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert (or comparable)
- Background in Zero Trust architecture, policy-as-code, and modern microservice patterns
