Life Care Home Health Family is seeking an innovative Accounting Manager to join our team in Irving, TX!


The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting for a multi-entity home health, hospice, and private duty organization. This role leads the month-end close process, maintains continuous readiness for the annual financial statement audit, and supports a disciplined control environment in a fast-paced setting. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, healthcare industry knowledge, and the ability to improve processes, strengthen accountability, and produce reliable financial information for leadership and investors.


Primary Responsibilities


  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial statements.
  • Own the close calendar and coordinate deliverables across accounting, billing, payroll, accounts payable, and operational leaders to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Maintain ongoing audit readiness by organizing support for key accounts, documenting reconciliations, strengthening schedules, and preparing for annual external audit requests throughout the year.
  • Coordinate annual audit activities, including preparing requested schedules, responding to auditor inquiries, and ensuring timely completion of audit deliverables.
  • Review general ledger activity and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Support accurate revenue recognition and reconciliation processes related to home health, hospice, and private duty services, including coordination with billing and reimbursement teams as needed.
  • Monitor cash, prepaid expenses, accruals, fixed assets, leases, intercompany activity, and other key accounting areas for accuracy and completeness.
  • Establish, maintain, and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and standard operating procedures to support scalability, consistency, and compliance.
  • Supervise and develop accounting staff by setting priorities, reviewing work, providing coaching, and promoting professional growth and accountability.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, revenue cycle, payroll, human resources, and compliance teams to resolve issues affecting financial reporting.
  • Assist with process improvement and automation initiatives to reduce close timelines, enhance reporting accuracy, and improve team efficiency.
  • Assist with integration activities, system implementations, and changes in business processes associated with growth, acquisitions, or restructuring.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting guidance, internal policies, and healthcare-related financial reporting requirements.
Requirements

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a senior accountant, accounting supervisor, or accounting manager capacity.
  • Experience leading month-end close and preparing audit support in a multi-site or multi-entity environment.
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, accruals, reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and internal controls.
  • Experience in healthcare services, with preference for home health, hospice, private duty, or other post-acute care settings.
  • Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP or healthcare financial systems preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and with external auditors.
  • CPA designation or CPA-track candidate preferred but not required.
