Digital Consultants seeks an On-site AV Technician to provide on-site audiovisual services including technical operations, system maintenance, emergency response, and event support. This position requires a professional with a minimum of five years of progressive AV experience, strong communication skills, ability to work independently, and experience in government or mission-critical environments. The on-site AV Technician is considered a key personnel member.
Duties to include:
- Provide full-time on-site AV technician support at the DOI Main Interior Building, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
- Support live, hybrid, virtual, and multimedia events, including setup, operation, troubleshooting, and strike-down of AV systems.
- Operate conference room and auditorium systems, including projection, microphones, mixing consoles, digital control systems, cameras, lighting, and conferencing equipment.
- Support Network Based Broadcasts, audio conferencing bridges, video webinars, livestreaming, and postproduction-related AV activities.
- Perform operator-level maintenance, equipment checks, and inventory support for AV systems and related hardware.
- Provide technical troubleshooting and system modification support for AV hardware, software, control systems, and networked AV environments.
- Maintain AV system documentation, request tracking, equipment records, and production quality assurance information.
- Provide recommendations for AV system enhancements, equipment upgrades, configuration changes, and technical improvements.
- Remain available for mission-critical support, including on-call, weekend, holiday, emergency, or closure-related support when required.
- Coordinate with the COR and Government AV team, respond promptly to tasking, support continuity during absences, and comply with DOI access, security, cybersecurity, safety, and data protection requirements.
Clearance: Must be able to pass National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI)
Certifications: None required, AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) preferred
Education: High School Diploma
Experience:
- Minimum of five years of progressive audiovisual experience.
- Experience supporting live events, hybrid meetings, conference rooms, and production environments.
- Experience with AV systems such as microphones, mixers, cameras, lighting, projection systems, control systems, conferencing systems, streaming platforms, and AV hardware.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across audio, video, control, conferencing, and presentation systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to operate professionally in a government, executive-level, or mission-critical environment.
- Ability to respond quickly to operational needs and shifting event priorities.
- Ability to support preventive maintenance, inventory tracking, system documentation, and equipment readiness activities.
- Ability to support occasional after-hours, weekend, holiday, or emergency requirements with advance notice.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience supporting Federal Government or mission-critical AV environments.
- Experience supporting executive-level events, press events, livestreams, webinars, and hybrid productions.
- Experience with Crestron, Extron, Shure, Teams Rooms, DSPs, AV networking, video switching, conferencing systems, and control room environments.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices, AV inventory verification, firmware updates, signal-path testing, and equipment documentation.
Physical Requirements: The candidate must be able to travel to other worksites as required and with or without reasonable accommodation, be able to sit, stand, use computers and monitors, and perform duties in an office environment for extended periods. The candidate must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. on occasion (e.g., moving a case of paper or similar task) that may occur occasionally.
