Summary
The Marketing Content Specialist will be a key member of the Marketing team, reporting to the Director of Brand Marketing, and will lead strategy and development of all social, email, influencer/UGC, and owned brand content. This role will be responsible for ensuring a cohesive brand voice and visual identity across consumer touchpoints and platforms.
This role combines creativity and ideation and will determine which type of content and messaging is most relevant by channel. Maintaining high visibility across internal teams and external fans, this role significantly impacts how our brand connects with consumers, resonates through the right message delivered in a compelling way, and drives both engagement and purchase intent.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute Sapporo’s social media and email strategy, managing content calendar, daily activity, outbound content and inbound response that drives alignment with overall business objectives and brand growth
- Write creative briefs for creative teams or external partners to create social-first content for brand marketing activations, milestones, and cultural moments
- Apply audience research, data, cultural trends, and competitor trends for decision making including content optimization and new concept development
- Ideate messaging, develop copy (as needed), and execute original, compelling, and effective content that matches the Sapporo brand, voice, and tone
- Analyze content performance and lead reporting efforts, delivering actionable insights and recommendations to improve effectiveness, optimize strategy, and strengthen brand relevance
- Manage direct-to-consumer marketing (email, SMS) and develop longer-form content focused to drive consumers to highlight product releases, campaign storytelling and encourage online conversions
- Develop consumer engagement strategies for organic social and email campaigns (i.e. sweepstakes and giveaways) to engage existing fans and acquire new customers, and determine ways to maintain meaningful engagement with this audience
- Support brand marketing campaign execution. Manage product seeding, online promotions and consumer engagement activities that bring campaigns and content messaging to life for consumers
- Develop and execute a comprehensive influencer and UGC strategy aligned with Sapporo’s growth objectives, driving brand awareness and adoption among target audiences
- Identify, build and manage relationships with influencers and content creators whose audience aligns with the Sapporo’s target demographic. Support contract development, creative briefing and collaboration of content creation while ensuring Sapporo’s brand voice and target objectives are achieved
- Oversee execution of influencer and UGC campaigns, ensuring they are delivered on time within budget, and align to contracted deliverables. Determine how to leverage content for paid social to maximize impact and performance
- Keep up with the latest influencer marketing trends, best practices, and platforms
- Ensure brand consistency across all platforms, maintaining up-to-date digital assets and distributing the latest content (including product imagery) to internal and external stakeholders
- Audit and optimize website content, developing briefs and recommending updates that aligns with brand campaigns and initiatives
- Manage and maintain centralized content, partnering with Creative Team to keep Brandfolder current, and serve as the internal source of truth for all Sapporo content, keeping external resources like Syndigo for product images, secondary brand content and copy

- Bachelor’s degree or 3-5 years of experience in a social media or related role
- Passion for social media, content creation and mastery of major social media platforms
- Strong awareness of cultural trends relevant to brand marketing
- A can-do and collaborative approach to ideation, execution and evaluation
- Experience creating social-first photo and video content with general editing capabilities (familiarity with mobile app photo & video editors)
- Highly self-motivated, self-sufficient, and detail-oriented
- Strong understanding of social media landscape, as well as current and developing trends
- Experience and success using social media management and listening tools such as BrandWatch and Iconosquare
- Exceptionally strong writing and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present ideas and information clearly and write in various styles for diverse audiences
- Action-oriented and fast-paced contributor eager to execute and drive results
