 Job Summary

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) supports the General Manager in leading all aspects of hotel operations to ensure exceptional guest experiences, operational excellence, and financial success. The AGM assists in overseeing department leaders, maintaining brand standards, driving revenue performance, and fostering a positive team culture at the Sheraton Boston Needham Hotel.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on hospitality leader with strong operational knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a passion for guest service, team development, and leading by example. Hands-on leadership is required in this role.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing daily hotel operations across all departments 
  • Ensure outstanding guest satisfaction and service recovery 
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance goals 
  • Lead, train, and motivate department managers and team members 
  • Maintain Marriott/Sheraton brand standards and compliance 
  • Monitor labor costs, productivity, and operational efficiency 
  • Support sales initiatives and revenue management strategies 
  • Ensure safety, cleanliness, and maintenance standards are met 
  • Participate in hiring, coaching, and performance management 
  • Act as Manager on Duty as needed 

Qualifications

  •  Minimum 5 years of hotel management experience required  
  • Marriott brand experience preferred 
  • Strong leadership and communication skills 
  • Knowledge of hotel operations, budgeting, and guest service 
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays 
  • Proficiency with hotel management systems preferred
