Summary of Description:

Provide overall management of projects to successfully meet project objectives and stake-holders expectations including the servicing of clients and development of new business opportunities relative to clients as assigned by the Projects Director.


Duties:

  • Service client account as directed by the Projects Director for the development of new business opportunities.  
  • Work with clients to define business requirements and objectives for projects. All client negotiations for contracts to be handled by the Projects Director.
  • Work with and oversee discipline development of detailed scope of work that aligns with client requirements and expectations.
  • Makes decisions and recommendations which can greatly affect profitability of assigned area.  
  • Work with and oversee discipline development of detailed engineering estimate and schedule.
  • Development of final client proposal for engineering services upon the Projects Directors approval.
  • Work with discipline Department Heads/Design Manager and Design Supervisors in the assignment of resources and management of assigned resources.
  • Project oversight to assure project meets ReCon and client objectives and expectations.
  • Responsible for project scope management including scope initiation, scope planning, scope definition, scope verification and scope change control.
  • Responsible for project budget including cost estimating, cost budgeting and cost control.
  • Responsible for project schedule including activity definition, activity sequencing, activity duration estimating, schedule development, and schedule control.
  • Responsible for quality of client deliverables.
  • Responsible for the project documentation and close out of projects.
  • Supervision of project managers/project engineers as necessary to meet client project load requirements.
  • Represent ReCon professionally and ethically promoting these qualities throughout the workplace.
  • Function as Project Manager on Projects as assigned by Projects Director.
  • Oversee/manage Project Managers/Project Engineers assigned to meet client base project requirements.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned. 


Education and Experience:

A Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited University preferred with ten (10) years or more experience in project design and management in industrial field including but not limited to refining, petrochemical, oil and gas production, pulp & paper, utility industries; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.


License Requirements:

  • Valid Driver’s License as per State law or requirement
  • Professional engineering license (PE) preferred but not required.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk up to one mile on industrial plant and construction sites outdoors at any time of the year.
  • Ability to work in protective clothing which may elevate body temperatures by several degrees Fahrenheit for periods of up to 15 minutes without a break.
  • Ability to use multi-level stair towers and rung ladders unassisted.
  • Ability to hear safety alarms and signals while wearing hearing protection.
  • Ability to sit at desk and operate computer for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk and hear.
  • Ability to see with visual acuity and distinguish between colors.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle and have a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift and carry 15lbs. on a regular basis is required and at times lifting to 25 lbs. may be required.
