Description
PRIMARY FOCUS
Responsible for assisting with meal preparation, light cleaning duties, and ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly. Your primary goal will be to provide high-quality meals in a timely fashion while adhering to food safety regulations and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Assist with meal preparation, including cooking, baking, and ensuring meals are prepared in a timely fashion.
· Follow the guidelines and regulations set by the Department of Health to ensure food safety and sanitation.
· Maintain knowledge of proper temperatures for hot and cold holding, cooking temperatures, and the safe dating of food.
· Help with food ordering and keeping track of inventory to ensure menu items are adequately stocked.
· Assist in cleaning and disinfecting countertops, tables, and kitchen equipment to maintain a clean and sanitary work area.
· Prepare tables before and after meals, ensuring they are properly set and cleaned.
· Clean and organize the fridge and freezer, ensuring food is stored correctly on shelves.
· Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen cupboards, ensuring they are properly sanitized.
· Operate and maintain the dishwasher, ensuring it is properly used and cleaned.
· Ensure trash is properly disposed of and emptied before the end of each shift.
· Communicate with residents to understand their meal preferences and alternatives.
· Aid other kitchen aides on the floor when needed.
Required Education and Certification
- Current NAC licensure in the State of Washington.
- Current BLS upon hire and duration of employment
- Minimum of 2 years nurse assistant experience preferred but not required
- Acute patient care experience preferred but not required
