Description

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

In this role, you will consistently produce high-volume parts to the highest level of quality according to the engineering drawings, in a cost-efficient manner. Work is performed with moderate to close supervision. This role is essential for keeping our manufacturing processes accurate, reliable, and efficient.

SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Set up and operate a variety of CNC work centers and controls with assistance.
  • Machine parts to engineering specifications.
  • Edit CNC programs as needed.
  • Set up and build fixtures with assistance.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Perform quality checks on machined parts, ensuring compliance with tolerances, and record in QA documentation.
  • Perform tooling checks to ensure the highest quality machining.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving quality issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring tools and fixtures pose no hazards.
  • Under the supervision of the QA department, perform Final Inspection of parts manufactured by others.
  • Any other related or non-related work assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements

EHS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Complete all work in a safe manner and adhere to all ELS safety regulations.
  • Participate actively in environmental health and safety training sessions.
  • Follow ELS guidelines to support environmental performance goals and ensure compliance.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification preferred.
  • 3-5 years machining experience.
  • No safety violations for a minimum of 12 months.
  • Non-Conformance rate of 2% or less, with minimum production goal of 90%.
  • Proficient in using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gages.
  • Proficiency in basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Must be able to properly identify and use most tooling.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform physical activities such as bending, reaching, kneeling, twisting, and gripping items.
  • Must possess manual dexterity and coordination to safely operate hand and mechanical tools.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace while adapting to changing priorities and handling frequent interruptions.
  • Must have good visual and auditory acuity to respond to cues and challenges in the work environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work primarily takes place in a heated and non-air-conditioned manufacturing facility.
  • Conditions involve proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, and potential exposure to chemicals.
  • Employees may encounter fumes, odors, dust, and other atmospheric conditions.
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes, hard hats and glasses is required.
